Compress images
Make photos dramatically smaller for email, web and storage — with a quality slider and exact before/after numbers.
Photos are compressed locally on your device — nothing is uploaded.
How to compress images
- Add images. One or a whole batch — JPG, PNG or WebP.
- Set quality. 75–85% is visually identical for most photos. Optionally cap the longest side.
- Compress. See the savings per file, then download individually or as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
What quality setting should I use?
80% is the sweet spot for photos — files are typically 5–10× smaller with no visible change. Go lower for thumbnails, higher (90%+) for print.
Why did my PNG become a JPG?
PNG is lossless and often can't shrink much. For photos the tool re-encodes to JPG (or keeps WebP), which is what makes big savings possible. Graphics needing transparency are better left as PNG.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser — that's also why compressing 50 photos takes seconds, not minutes.
