Video to MP3
Pull the audio out of any video as an MP3. The clever part: the video never uploads anywhere — which matters when it's a 500 MB recording and your upload speed is what it is.
How it works
- Drop your video. MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI — anything with an audio track.
- Pick a quality. High (~V2 VBR) is transparent for most ears; Small halves the size for voice recordings.
- Extract. The first run loads the media engine (~31 MB, cached afterwards), then the MP3 downloads automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded?
No — and for this tool that's a big deal. Server-based converters make you upload the whole video (slow) and then trust them with it. Here the audio is extracted by an engine running in your own browser tab.
Why does the first run take a moment to start?
The media engine (FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, ~31 MB) downloads on first use. It's cached after that — later runs, even offline, start instantly.
What video formats work?
MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI, M4V and most others. If the video plays in your browser, the audio can almost certainly be extracted.
How long does it take?
Audio extraction is much faster than video work — typically well under the clip's own duration. A 4-minute song from a music video takes seconds to tens of seconds depending on your device.
