Remove audio from a video
Background chatter, wind noise, music you don't have rights to — gone. The audio track is dropped and the picture is copied untouched, so it's fast even for large files and the video quality is byte-identical.
Your video is processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged.
How it works
- Drop your video.
- Click “Remove audio”. No settings needed — the video stream is copied as-is, the audio is dropped.
- Download the silent copy, same format and same visual quality as the original.
Frequently asked questions
Does muting reduce video quality?
No — the video track is stream-copied byte-for-byte. Only the audio track is removed. That's also why it's fast: nothing is re-encoded.
Why would I mute a video?
Posting where music rights are an issue, cutting embarrassing background commentary before sharing a screen recording, or shrinking a file slightly (the audio track's size is saved).
Can I replace the audio instead?
Not yet — this tool only removes it. Extract audio with Video to MP3, or trim with Trim Video.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
