Edit PDF metadata
Fix the title that shows in the browser tab, set the real author, add keywords — or hit one button and wipe everything, including the hidden XMP metadata block that most online editors forget.
How it works
- Drop your PDF. The current title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer load into editable fields.
- Edit and save — or click Clear ALL metadata to blank every field and delete the XMP stream in one go.
- Download. The modification date is refreshed automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Where does PDF metadata actually show up?
Browser tabs and PDF readers show the title (not the filename). Search tools index author and keywords. File managers show all of it in Properties. A wrong title makes a document look sloppy everywhere it's opened.
What is the XMP block and why does it matter?
PDFs usually carry two copies of metadata: the classic Info fields and an XML block called XMP, which can also contain editing history and software traces. Editors that only clear the Info fields leave the XMP copy behind. “Clear ALL” here removes both.
Does clearing metadata change the document's content?
No — pages, text and images are untouched. Only the descriptive fields change.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Reading and writing metadata happens entirely in your browser.
